Finding Inspiration in Every Turn
The charity, in its current format, was established on November 12, 1875, but there are records held in the Cambridgeshire county records office dating back to 1571. The charity was set up to provide almshouses – accommodation typically provided to elderly people who can no longer work or earn enough to pay rent.
In 1879 the Trustees built a town hall with some of the proceeds of the charitable estates. The town hall is now Littleport Library and owned by The Littleport Town Lands Charity.
